In an old interview, Kajol had preferred Salman's character over Shahrukh Khan's in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. When she was asked who she would choose between Rahul (played by Shahrukh Khan) and Aman (played by Salman Khan), she replied, “At the script level, maybe I would have chosen Salman's character, but in the film, if You watch the movie, there's no choice about the ending; it's the way it is.” 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' was a huge success, winning several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film.
