Xiaomi has announced its first 5G phone for under Rs 10,000 in India with Qualcomm at the Indian Mobile Congress 2024 (IMC 2024) event in Delhi on Wednesday. Xiaomi was arlier confirmed to be one of the first to launch the budget 5G phone with the new chipset, which is now officially called Redmi 4A 5G that will be available later this year.
The new Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset is powering this Redmi phone which becomes the first in the market to use the hardware and also bring a quality 5G phone to the buyers for under Rs 10,000. We still don’t know how much the Redmi 4A 5G phone will cost but getting it in four-digits should be appealing to many consumers.
Redmi 4A 5G Phone Announced In India: What To Expect
Xiaomi has not revealed the specifications of the 5G phone but we already know about the features supported by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset which should get people excited for what’s to come.
So, what can people expect from these 5G phones that can launch for as low as Rs 8,000 in the next few months Here’s a closer look at expected features from the budget 5G phone:
– The new 5G chipset offers support for a 90Hz refresh rate screen that will give you Full HD+ resolution. Typically, you get 4G phones in this range with HD resolution right now, and standard 60Hz refresh rate. Qualcomm feels the upgrades will tempt people into getting the budget 5G phones.
– The chipset supports up to 8GB RAM and UFS 3.1 for storage. Most people know that budget phones till date have offered 4GB RAM or maximum 6GB memory in this range, but the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 is getting a big upgrade that will let apps work faster and the multi-tasking will be better on these devices.
– Qualcomm says you can get up to 40W speeds on these devices but we’ll be happy to see even 30W offered on the budget 5G phones.
