Google releases Android 15 update for Pixel lineup: Check out the list of eligible devices

Google has released an Android 15-based stable update for Pixel devices. All eligible Google Pixel smartphones and tablets will get the latest Android update with the new features. Ahead of Google, Vivo and iQOO have released the latest FunTouchOS 15 update for some of their select products which is based on Android 15. The latest update is also available for 13 Pixel devices, including the current flagships – Pixel 9 series, Pixel tablets and Pixel Fold included. Android 15 update for Google Pixel: What's new?

With the latest Android OS update, Google Pixel devices will get a number of privacy and security features, including new anti-theft capabilities. It has an AI-supported theft detection lock and many other security updates.

However, the update does not include any visual changes, making it look similar to Android 14.

AI-supported theft detection lock to get your stolen Pixel smartphone back

Android 15 adds AI-supported theft detection lock feature to Pixel devices. This feature will help users to get their stolen phones back. The AI-supported theft detection lock will automatically lock the smartphone if it detects that someone is trying to snatch the phone and run away. Additionally, it will also prevent a thief from removing the SIM card from the phone. With this feature enabled, if someone removes the SIM card from a Pixel phone running Android 15, the device will ask for authentication to access the device. If they fail authentication, the device will automatically lock, rendering it useless.

The update also brings other new features, like low light boost and in-app camera controls, improved network capabilities, including satellite connectivity for messaging on eligible models, and one-tap app login using a passkey. Android 15 List of Pixel smartphones eligible for the update: Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 series, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet.
