)Puri: Odisha's Puri Jagannath Temple has announced that only ghee from Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) will be used for the preparation of Mahaprasad and lighting of lamps in the temple. It has been said that strict action will be taken against those who bring ghee of any other brand from outside. Shri Jagannath Temple Office gave this information. Let us tell you that after the complaint of adulteration in ghee in the Prasad of Tirupati Bala Temple of Andhra Pradesh, an atmosphere of anger was seen across the country. After which the decision to use OMFED ghee in Shri Jagannath Temple from now on was taken on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Chief Administrator of Jagannath Temple has requested OMFED to cooperate. The Chief Administrator of the temple wrote a letter to the MD of OMFED informing him about the decision taken. He also urged to take steps for special depot

The Chief Administrator wrote in the letter, “It has been decided to use only Omfed ghee for making Mahaprasad inside the temple and for lamps. This has been discussed and agreed upon with officials. Therefore, OMFED is requested to take steps to ensure adequate availability of Ghee keeping in mind the requirement of OMFED Ghee in the temple. The Chief Administrator has ordered to take steps to ensure that no one other than OMFED Ghee should not enter the temple. Also a warning has been issued that if any person is found carrying ghee of any other brand in Shrimandir, then action will be taken against him.
