Sports Desk: The first day of the first Test being played between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru from October 16 was washed out due to rain. Play could not take place on the first day due to rain. The day's play was abandoned after the umpire and other match officials inspected the field in the afternoon.

The rain stopped around 2 pm, then the umpires inspected the field and considering the conditions, it was decided to cancel the game at 2:34 pm. Earlier, the spectators were thrilled when the outfield cover and the first layer of pitch cover were removed for inspection. But due to rain since morning it was not possible to play the game.

Toss could not take place due to rain

Due to heavy rain since morning, the toss could not even take place at 9 am. Despite the bad weather, a large number of spectators gathered on the ground. The spectators were very happy to see star batsman Virat Kohli and opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal practicing indoors but were also disappointed as the game did not take place. After the day's play was canceled, both the teams left for the hotel.

After the game was canceled due to rain on the first day, the match will start early on the second day on October 17. The toss will take place at 8.45 pm. The game will start at 9.15 am. If 98 overs are bowled in the entire day tomorrow. But looking at the weather in Bengaluru, it would be difficult to say that a full day's play is possible tomorrow.

Chance of rain on second day also

There is a possibility of rain in Bengaluru on Thursday. Along with this, there is also a possibility of a slight storm. Now it remains to be seen how many overs can be played tomorrow or whether the first Test will be completely affected by rain. Heavy rain has been predicted on the second day also. Both the teams could not even practice due to rain. The second day's play will start at 9.15 am and the toss will be held at 8.45 am.
