Rishabh Pant walked in to bat at No. 5 for India in the series opener after Matt Henry dismissed Sarfaraz Khan on the fourth ball of the 10th over. Sarfaraz, who replaced Shubman Gill in India’s playing XI, couldn’t get off the mark and was dismissed for a three-ball duck.

New Zealand opener Devon Conway pulled off a stunning catch, diving to his right to end his innings. His quick reflexes and athleticism made the catch look effortless, contributing to India’s struggles in the ongoing match.

Rishabh Pant got out on 20 runs off 49 deliveries against Henry’s length pitched delivery. At the moment of writing, India currently reeling at 46/9 with Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj on strike.

India made two changes to their playing XI for the first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Shubman Gill was ruled out due to fitness concerns, giving Sarfaraz Khan an opportunity to take his place. Additionally, India decided to rest pacer Akash Deep, bringing in Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement. Kuldeep, who has 53 wickets in 12 Tests, last featured in a match against England at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, where he claimed a five-wicket haul.
