Rohit Bal's Lakme Fashion Week Finale Show Is A 'Poetic Ode To Nature'

Ace designer Rohit Bal made his much-awaited runway comeback with wonders from his collection at the Lakme X FDCI Fashion Week grand finale on Sunday. In a mixed display of art and emotions, the designer showcased his latest collection, Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe, at the Imperial Hotel in New Delhi. With models like Lakshmi Rana and Sheetal Mallar standing out in beautiful Kalidaar dresses, actor Ananya Panday turned showstopper for Gudda, as fashion insiders and friends call him.

Through his Kaaynaat presentation, Rohit Bal presented a stunning tribute to nature and its beauty, which was reflected in every outfit on the runway. It has beautiful roses, peacocks, horses and hand-painted parakeets followed by flowing fabrics, intricate embroidery and vibrant hues, which were nothing less than a visual spectacle. Colours from white to deep shades and florals clearly dominated the runway amid a 90s playlist in the background.

Last but not least, Ananya Panday turned up as the perfect muse in a black and rose lehenga, walking the ramp as the showstopper. According to the Lakme Fashion Week, Rohit Bal brought his extraordinary vision to life with a showcase that was a “poetic ode to nature, beauty, and the art of transformation.

“With roses as the centrepiece, each garment unveils a story woven through intricate embroidery and masterful craftsmanship, capturing the delicate balance of time and metamorphosis. This grand finale is a stunning celebration of nature’s elegance, where fashion blooms into art, leaving an indelible mark on the world of haute couture,” it added.

In a press release, Rohit Bal described Kaaynaat as a “journey” through the wonders of nature that celebrate the bloom of life and beauty. For those unaware, the designer has been battling heart disease for over a year now, which even led to his hospitalisation in November 2023.
