Don't panic if luggage is stolen in the train, Railways gave compensation of Rs 4.7 lakh to the passenger.

During the festival season, passenger traffic by train increases. Due to this, crowding in trains and stations increases. During this period, incidents of theft of belongings of many people also come to light. Many times, passengers travel with expensive luggage and if their luggage gets lost, they have to face a lot of trouble. In such a situation, if a passenger's luggage gets lost in the train, who will be responsible for it?

Whose responsibility will it be?

Actually, a similar case has come to light in which a bag of a traveler living in Durg was stolen. This incident happened in Amarkantak Express in May 2017. National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission i.e. NCDRC has issued a statement in this matter in which Railways has been ordered to pay Rs 4.7 lakh as compensation to the passenger.

The victim had said in his petition that due to the negligence of the TTE and Railway Police employees, unauthorized persons had entered the reserved compartment. During this period, the victim suffered a loss of approximately Rs 9.5 lakh. It has been said that such an incident in a reserved compartment is wrong and the Railways will have to take responsibility for it.
