IND vs NZ: Matt Henry took 5 wickets in one innings of Bengaluru Test, made a place in the special club of many greats

Delhi: Due to the brilliant performance of the fast bowlers of the New Zealand cricket team, the Indian team was reduced to just 46 runs in the first innings in the Bengaluru Test. Kiwi bowler Matt Henry took 5 wickets while bowling lethally and during this also completed 100 wickets in his Test career. This was his first 5 wicket haul against the Indian team.

The right-arm fast bowler opened the account of wickets by dismissing Sarfaraz Khan (0). After this, he sent Ravindra Jadeja (0) and Ravichandran Ashwin (0) to the pavilion on consecutive balls. In the end, he also made Rishabh Pant (20) and Kuldeep Yadav (2) his victims and took 5 wickets for 15 runs in 13.2 overs. Apart from this, William Oruke took 4 wickets and Tim Southee took 1 wicket.

Henry has now become the 15th New Zealand bowler to complete 100 wickets in Tests. He has achieved this feat in 50 innings of 26 Tests at an average of 30.94. His best bowling performance has been 7 wickets for 23 runs and so far he has taken 5 wicket hauls 4 times. Henry made his Test debut in 2015.

Apart from this, Matt has now become the joint second fastest bowler for New Zealand to take 100 wickets. He has equaled Neil Wagner (26 Tests). Richard Hadlee (25 matches) is at first place in this list. Henry has become the fourth best performing Kiwi fast bowler on Indian soil. Ahead of him are Tim Southee (7/64), Dion Nash (6/27) and Richard Hadlee (6/49).

India's lowest home score

Due to the lethal bowling of Matt Henry, India has made its lowest score (46) on home soil. Earlier, India's smallest score on home soil was 75 runs. This is Team India's third smallest total in Test history. In 2020, India was out for 36 runs against Australia, whereas in 1974, the team was out for 42 runs against England.
