Actually, Ayodhya's astrologer Pandit Kalki Ram tells that the month of Kartik is starting from 18th October. Which will end next month on 15th November. This month, one should wake up every morning and take bath in the holy river. Kartik bath also has to be done in this month. It is believed that bathing in the holy river this month also brings virtue. Apart from this, doing bhajan, kirtan, lamp donation and worshiping the Tulsi plant is also considered very auspicious this month.
In the month of Kartik, Shri Hari resides in water. The month of Kartik is considered a very auspicious time to receive the blessings of Lord Vishnu. This month, Shri Hari and Mata Lakshmi should be worshiped every day. Tulsi plant should be worshipped. A lamp of desi ghee should be lit on the Tulsi plant in the morning and evening.
Along with this, according to one's devotion one should donate warm clothes and money to poor people. One should avoid consuming tamasic things in the month of Kartik. One should not use wrong words while talking to anyone. The cleanliness of the body and mother should be maintained. No animal or bird should be harmed.
