Seven coaches and engine of Mumbai bound Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed, timings of many trains were changed…

(Assam): At least seven coaches and engine of Mumbai-bound Lokmanya Tilak Express (12520) derailed at Haflong in Dima Hasao district of Assam on Thursday afternoon. However, there are no reports of any casualties or serious injuries. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) officials said that the train had left from Agartala in Tripura. Meanwhile, seven bogies from B1 to B7 derailed at a small station called Diblong.

NFR Railway has started two helplines 0367 4263120 and 0367 263126 in Lumding for passengers. Besides, NFR also sent accident relief medical train from Lumding to the spot along with senior officials to monitor the rescue and restoration work. Officials said services on the Lumding-Badarpur single line hill section have been suspended. Timings of many trains have been changed and some have been stopped midway.

Following trains were canceled due to derailment of bogies: Train no. 05698 (Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri) Special, Train No. 05628 (Agartala-Guwahati) Summer Special and Train No. 15611/15612 (Rangiya – Silchar – Rangiya) Express was to run on October 17, 2024. Train no. 05697 (New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati) Special, Train No. 05627 (Guwahati-Agartala) Summer Special, Train No. 02525 (Kamakhya-Anand Vihar Terminal) special and train no. 15616/15615 (Silchar – Guwahati – Silchar) Express was to depart on October 18, 2024. Train No. 02526 (Anand Vihar Terminal – Kamakhya) Special was to depart on October 20, 2024.
