New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 will no longer include optional questions in Section B of each subject. The JEE Main paper will now be set in the original examination format like it was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

For JEE (Main) 2025, candidates will now be required to attempt all 5 questions in Section B without any optional choices. This rule applies to Paper 1 (BE or BTech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlanning).

During the pandemic, NTA introduced a temporary option allowing candidates to attempt any 5 questions out of 10 in Section B of each subject. However, with the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring an end to the COVID-19 public health emergency on May 5, 2023, the agency decided to revert to the original exam structure.
