Bread & Roses OTT Release Date: Jennifer Lawrence and Malala Yousafza’s compelling docu-movie titled Bread & Roses is all set to stream online on Apple TV on November 22nd, 2024.

Last year on May 21st, 2023, the documentary feature made its first premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival, showing viewers the resistance & struggle of Afghan women against the gender discriminatory policies of Afghanistan’s Taliban government.

Following that, in 2024, Apple Orignal Fims selected the Sahra Mani directorial for streaming online on its platform & now, they have finally unveiled the exact date when it will become available for watching on the platform.

About the Documentary

Set in 2021, Bread & Roses sees the Taliban taking over the power of Afghanistan once again following the withdrawal of US & NATO forces from the central Asian country. The movie shows the plight of Afghan ladies, who lost the privileges & rights they once enjoyed days after Kabul fell to the regime of the Taliban.

Additionally, it also chronicles the collective efforts of three brave Afghan ladies who, keeping their lives at stake, tried their best to resist the newly formed Taliban-led government from snatching away their freedom and autonomy.

Production of the Movie

With Nobel Peace winner Malala Yousafzai backing the documentary as its executive producer, Jennifer Lawrence, in a joint effort with Justine Ciarrocchi, has bankrolled Bread & Roses under the banner of their own production house Excellent Cadaver. Eyan Foundation has presented the 90-minute long heart-wrenching film in association with Extracurricular.
