Ananya Pandey will be seen with Akshay Kumar and R in C Shankaran Nair's biopic. Madhavan

Mumbai Mumbai. Ananya Panday is enjoying the success of her recently released projects, CTRL and Call Me Bae! Now, the actress is all set to join hands with Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan for the much-awaited film about C Shankaran Nair, which focuses on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

The yet-untitled film is scheduled to release on March 14, 2025, and is backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The official Instagram handle of Dharma Movies announced their upcoming film and said that it will be based on the real events of Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat's book The Case That Shook the Empire. Sharing the announcement, the makers wrote, “An untold story, an unheard truth.” Earlier, it was reported that C Shankaran Nair's biopic will be titled Shankara. However, official confirmation is awaited.

Earlier, during the announcement of the film, Johar said, “I am extremely excited and honored to support this film, which is based on Shankaran Nair's story of the British Raj, to uncover the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Shankaran Nair's bravery ignited the freedom struggle across the country and is a testament to the power of fighting for the truth.” According to Bollywood Hungama, Akshay will play the role of a lawyer. On the other hand, Pandey's character seeks guidance from him. There will be no romantic angle between the two. In 2023, Kumar shot the film in Jama Masjid, Delhi.
