AQI crosses 300 in many areas of Delhi, dense blanket of fog in many areas

Delhi Pollution: The level of pollution in Delhi is increasing rapidly. On Saturday morning, a blanket of fog was visible in many areas of Delhi. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, smog levels were seen in 'very poor' and 'poor' category in ITO, Bhikaji Cama Place and Anand Vihar area. PWD vehicles have sprayed water in polluted parts of the national capital. Yamuna river is also becoming polluted. Foam is visible on the water of Yamuna river in Kalindi Kunj. The air here is in very bad category.

A dense blanket of fog is visible

A dense blanket of fog is being seen in Anand Vihar area. The air quality index (AQI) here has fallen to 334. It has been kept in the 'very bad' category. Apart from this, a thin layer of smog is also seen in 334, Bhikaji Cama Place in Akshardham area. The air quality index here has fallen to 273. Similarly, AQI of ITO has fallen to 226. Apart from this, AQI of India Gate has been recorded at 251.

May have to face many diseases

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, one may face difficulty in breathing in poor category AQI. If you stay in such an environment for a long time, you may have to face many diseases. At present there is no hope of improvement in AQI. Let us tell you that AQI 0-50 is good, AQI 51-100 is 'satisfactory', AQI 101-200 is 'moderate', AQI 201-300 is 'poor', AQI 301-400 is 'very poor' and 401-500 is considered 'severe'.

According to the Meteorological Department, pollution will increase further in the coming days. The pollution level may reach 'very poor' category by Sunday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there are chances of the pollution level increasing due to moderate wind speed.
