Rishabh Pant joins the list of unwanted records

Mumbai Mumbai. Team India has made a great comeback against New Zealand thanks to the partnership of Sarfaraz Khan and Rishabh Pant. In India's second innings, Pant and Sarfaraz helped Team India regain the lead after a historically low score in the first innings. Team India is struggling against the Kiwis, but the batsmen have made a comeback. However, during the game, Rishabh Pant missed his innings after being dismissed on 99 runs. Another run off Chinnaswamy could have sealed his century, but being out on 99 has left him on the list of unwanted records. After being dismissed for 99 runs, Team India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has joined the list of top cricketers, which includes MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly, Navjot Singh Sidhu and many others. Rishabh was on great track to score his seventh century in Test cricket. But the stumpers were left emotionless after O'Rourke's ball hit the edge and went straight to the stumps. Pant took a long leap and the spectators were stunned after being out for 99 runs.

The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has joined MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly in the list of Indian batsmen who have lost their wickets for 99 runs in Test cricket. In 2012, MSD were out for 99 after being run out by Sir Alastair Cook, while Ganguly did so twice in the game. In 1997, he was dismissed by Sri Lanka in Nagpur, while the second time was in 2002 against England in Nottingham. Motaganhalli Lakshminarasu Jayasimha, Pankaj Roy, Virender Sehwag, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Russian Framrose Surti, Murali Vijay and Ajit Wadekar are the other Indian batsmen who were out for 99 runs.

Surprisingly, since making his Test debut against England in 2018, Rishabh Pant has topped the list of active players who have been out in the 90s. Tom Blundell, Devon Conway, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne have been out in the 90s three times. In the 1990s, he was out in the 90s seven times.
