Virat Kohli made a unique record with the partnership of 136 with Sarfaraz Khan, leaving Kumar Sangakkara behind.

India vs New Zealand 1st Test: In the second innings of the first Test match against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz made an excellent partnership of 136 runs for the third wicket for the Indian cricket team. This partnership broke in the form of the wicket of Kohli, who scored 70 runs in 102 balls with the help of eight fours and one six.

With this century partnership, Kohli left Kumar Sangakkara behind in the special record list. Kohli has reached fifth position in terms of being a part of most century partnerships. This is the 133rd century partnership of which Kohli has been a part. Whereas Kumar Sangakkara was a part of 132 century partnership.

In this list, Sachin Tendulkar (185) is first, Ricky Ponting (157) is second, Rahul Dravid (144) is third and Mahela Jayawardene (135) is fourth.

It is noteworthy that after falling behind by a huge margin of 356 runs in the first innings, the Indian team lost the wickets of captain Rohit Sharma (52) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (35) till the total score of 95 runs in the second innings.

Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, the Indian team was all out for just 46 runs in the first innings. After which the New Zealand team performed brilliantly and scored 402 runs and gained a huge lead of 356 runs.
