car news desk, BYD i.e. Build Your Dream has launched its third car, Sealed Electric Sedan in India in March 2024 itself. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 41 lakh which goes up to Rs 53 lakh for the top model. The company has given a discount of up to Rs 2.50 lakh to increase sales during the festive season and pass its benefits to the customers. A cash discount of up to Rs 2 lakh is being given on Seal EV, while a 3-year service and maintenance package worth Rs 50,000 is also being given for free. This discount is being given on the performance variant of Seal, whose ex-showroom price is Rs 51 lakh.

Launched in three variants
The BYD Seal electric sedan is offered in three variants – Dynamic, Premium and Performance. Their ex-showroom prices have been kept at Rs 41 lakh, Rs 45.55 lakh and Rs 53 lakh respectively. There are two battery options available with the Sealed EV – 61.44 kWh-R and 82.56 kWh-R. Of these, the less powerful battery pack has been given a single motor which produces 204 hp power and 310 Nm peak torque. It gives a range of up to 510 km on a single charge. The powerful battery pack comes in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive systems, making 312 hp and 360 Nm of peak torque. In dual motor it generates 530 HP and 670 Nm power.

Range will be up to 650 km
The BYD Seal variant with 82.56 kWh-R battery pack offers a range of up to 650 km on a single charge, while in all-wheel drive this range reduces to 580 km/charge. The company claims that this car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The battery pack of Seal EV supports 150 kW charging and it gets charged from 10-80 percent in just 37 minutes. It takes about eight and a half hours to be fully charged with a normal 11 kW AC charger. The company says that it can also be used as an inverter during outings.

Amazing look, hi-tech features
BYD Seal is a very beautiful looking electric sedan which looks a lot like Tesla cars. Its style and design are quite attractive. To give the car a coupe-like look, glass roof, special door handles, boomerang shaped LED DRLs, LED headlights, LED taillights with connecting bar at the rear have been provided. It has got 19-inch alloy wheels which make its looks more attractive. The cabin is also luxurious and hi-tech, it has 15.6 inch infotainment, 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster and heads up display. Its cabin looks neat and strong.

Safety and competition both good
Safety features have also been strengthened with the Seal Electric Sedan, these include 8-way adjustable driver seat with memory, heated and cooled front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leatherette upholstery, dual zone AC, 10 airbags, ABS. ADAS technology with hill hold, automatic wipers, 360 degree camera. This car has got 5-star safety rating in Euro NCAP. In the Indian market, this car has started competing with electric cars like Hyundai Ioniq 4, Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
