Big accident in UP: Bus falls into drain in Siddharthnagar, 3 killed, 24 injured

Siddharthnagar: While trying to save a cyclist, a bus fell into a drain in Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday evening. In the accident, three people including the cyclist died and about 24 people were injured. Superintendent of Police (SP) Prachi Singh said that the police received information at around 6.30 pm on Friday evening that a bus which was coming from Balrampur to Siddharthnagar, fell into the Chargahva drain under Dhebaruwa police station. He told that the police team reached the spot on information and with the help of local people rescued the passengers trapped in the bus. At the time of the accident, 53 people were traveling in the bus.

Singh said that three people including a teenager died in this accident. He said that the accident happened while trying to save the cyclist. The cyclist also died. The deceased have been identified as cyclist Mangni Ram (50) and bus passengers Ajay Verma (14) and Gama (65).

According to the police, more than 24 people have been injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment at CSC Badhni and Siddharthnagar District Hospital. The bus riders were returning from the Mundan programme. Similar news of the accident was also received from Pratapgarh on Friday evening. Here, 20 people were injured in a road accident in Baghrai area.
