On one hand, the issue of playing Champions Trophy 2025 is stuck between India and Pakistan, while even before that, the teams of both the countries are clashing in different tournaments. Teams of both the countries have clashed in last year’s ODI World Cup, this year in the Men’s T20 World Cup and recently in the Women’s T20 World Cup. Now once again India and Pakistan clashed and this time this match took place in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. While the matches played between senior teams were settled peacefully without any tension, in the Emerging Cup match, there was an argument between two players of India and Pakistan, which increased the heat of the match.

The most important match was on Saturday 19 October, the second day of this tournament which started from 18 October in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The Indian team captained by Tilak Verma came out to bat first after winning the toss. For Team India, the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh made a flying start and scored 68 runs in the powerplay itself. During this, both of them thrashed the fast bowlers of Pakistan.

Abhishek’s argument with Pakistani bowler

This partnership of both ended on the very first ball of the 7th over, when Abhishek Sharma could not play the shot with the right timing on the ball of Pakistani spinner Sufyan Muqeem and the Pakistani fielder took a good catch. This is where the tension arose. As soon as Abhishek was out, the Pakistani bowler started pointing his finger at his mouth to indicate silence and then he abused Abhishek. Abhishek Sharma got angry on this matter and he stopped there and started replying to the Pakistani bowler. Before the situation became more serious, the umpire and other players intervened. Pakistani players pacified their bowlers by convincing them, while Prabhasimran pacified Abhishek and asked him to return to the pavilion.
