People eating more than required: Dr. Dheeraj Shah said that there was a time when starvation and malnutrition were seen in the country, but in the recent survey it has been seen that people are paying more attention to eating more than required. Due to which these people become victims of serious diseases. Indian culture is such that we associate every occasion with food. Due to which people are consuming more food items than required. Even though Navratri is going on at this time, people are rushing to eat more during these festivals. He said that eating too much increases sugar, BP and heart disease in people. Not only youth but also children are becoming victims of this. This has become a matter of concern.

Do not consume high fat items.

Consume milk products like toned milk, curd, lassi, buttermilk.

Eat bottle gourd or sweet potatoes instead of potatoes.

Instead of fiber rich things, eat fruits, curd, coconut water, green vegetables. This keeps the digestive system healthy and overeating can be avoided.

Instead of eating two-three times a day, eat several times in small portions.

Use black pepper instead of red chilli. Black pepper strengthens digestion.

Consume millets like buckwheat and sago during the fast. They contain protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

Use ghee instead of refined cooking oil in your diet plan. With this, the body gets good fats apart from vitamins A and E.

Instead of consuming potatoes and fruits daily, consume ghee, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and fruit chaat.
