Triumph Motorcycle India has given both these bikes a new 398.15 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine generates 39.5 bhp power at 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The company has equipped it with a 6-speed gearbox and it comes with a slipper-and-assist clutch. Apart from this, both the bikes have been introduced in different tuning according to different models. Both bikes have 43 mm USD forks at the front and adjustable gas charged monoshock suspension at the rear.

Triumph has given both the motorcycles a new speedometer with LCD screen. It has LED lighting, dual-channel ABS, ride by wire, immobilizer and shut-off traction control. Apart from this, the company has also provided switchable ABS with Triumph Scrambler 400X. Both the bikes have been given different wheels, in which the Street 400 has got 17-inch wheels, while the Scrambler 400X has been given 19-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear.
