Bomb attack on the headquarters of Japan's ruling party, police engaged in investigation

Tokyo: The headquarters of Japan's ruling party was attacked with a bomb on Saturday. A man threw several bombs at the headquarters, after which he was arrested. The incident was reported by public broadcaster NHK and other Japanese media. There is no news of anyone being injured in the attack. Tokyo Police have currently refused to comment regarding this incident. Also said that the investigation of the matter is still going on.

According to media reports, the accused was arrested on the spot. It was told that the accused had rammed his car into a nearby fence. It is not yet clear what was the motive behind the attack.

The ruling Liberal Democratic Party is rapidly losing popularity among the common people due to dubious financing and tax evasion scandals. The party also refused to comment regarding the attack. Voting for the lower house of the country's parliament will take place on October 27. The ruling party has officially withdrawn support from some of the tainted leaders but they are contesting the elections as independent candidates.

Liberal Democrats remained in power for a long time

The Liberal Democrats have been in power in Japan for a long time. It played a big role in making Japan an economic superpower from the devastation of World War II. Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was assassinated in 2022 while he was giving a speech campaigning for a ruling party candidate in the parliamentary elections.

The killer used a handmade gun and said he was angry at Abe because his mother had given all the family's money to the Unification Church. He considered Abe to be associated with that church.
