Happy Karwa Chauth 2024: Best wishes, greetings, quotes, whatsapp and facebook messages to share with your partner

Karwa Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival primarily observed by married women in northern and western India. This year, the auspicious occasion falls on October 20. On this day, married women observe a nirjala vrat (fasting without water) for their husband’s long life and prosperity.  It is a celebration of love, commitment among women, reinforcing marital bonds and devotion.

The day begins early, before sunrise, when women consume a pre-dawn meal called sargi. This meal is traditionally prepared by the mother-in-law and includes fruits, sweets, and other nourishing items. Throughout the day, women perform prayers for their husband. In the evening, they gather with other women to participate in communal rituals. After the moon rises, women break their fast, often by first looking at the moon through a water-filled vessel and then at their husband. The husband then offers the first sip of water or bite of food to their wife, symbolising the breaking of the vrat.

To celebrate this auspicious occasion, India.com curated the best collection of greetings that you can share with your partner, expressing love and devotion.
