The International Masters League (IML) has announced the formation of its Governing Council, which will include three great cricketers and Masters – League Commissioner Sunil Gavaskar, Sir Vivian Richards and Shaun Pollock. The triumvirate will oversee the strategic direction, rules and operations of the IML to ensure that the league remains a premier platform for sports fans, blending sporting heritage and entertainment, and providing fans around the world with the best of the game. The inaugural edition of the International Masters League is being held from 17 November to 8 December 2024. Navi Mumbai's D.Y. The inaugural match will be played at Patil Stadium. Apart from this, matches will also be organized in Lucknow and Raipur. Raipur will host the concluding match.

The first batsman to score 10,000 runs in Test cricket and one of cricket's greatest players, Sunil Gavaskar is known for his excellent cricketing understanding and his commitment to the purity of the game. Sir Vivian Richards, considered one of the most explosive batsmen in cricket history, was a key part of the West Indies team that dominated the cricket world during the 1970s and 1980s. Shaun Pollock, former South African captain and one of the most successful all-rounders of all-time, will bring his experience and versatility as a member of the IML Governing Council.
