The SP had joined the All India Alliance to take on the BJP-led NDA ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. SP had emerged as the third largest party in the Lok Sabha elections with 37 seats after BJP and Congress. Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav was present at the swearing-in ceremony of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
