SP contested on 7 seats in the last assembly elections

In the assembly elections held in Maharashtra in the year 2019, SP had fielded candidates on 7 seats. 2 of them had won. However, the deposits of its candidates on the remaining seats were forfeited. The SP had joined the All India Alliance to take on the BJP-led NDA ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. SP had emerged as the third largest party in the Lok Sabha elections with 37 seats after BJP and Congress. Kannauj MP Akhilesh Yadav was present at the swearing-in ceremony of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. While sharing a picture of himself with the leaders of the India Alliance, he wrote, 'Unity is India.' It is known that elections for 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra will be held on November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.
