Google AI: Google has announced several AI-based partnerships to empower the healthcare, agriculture and sustainability sectors in India. Its objective is to simplify complex problems through technological solutions and bring positive changes in people's lives.

Simple solutions to complex problems

Google made these announcements at a roundtable held in Bengaluru, which coincided with the fifth anniversary of Google's research lab in the city. The conference follows the 10th edition of Google for India, which unveiled the capabilities of AI and how it can provide innovative solutions in agriculture, health and waste management.

Dr. Manish Gupta, Research Director of Google's DeepMind, said that the company's aim is to simplify people's lives and for this, continuous efforts are being made to deal with the challenges. Using AI, Google is working with local and global partners on better healthcare and agricultural solutions.

Impact of AI in health field

Google is working on a plan to provide 6 million AI-based screenings related to diabetic retinopathy in the next decade. For this, Google has partnered with Forus Health and AuroLab in India, and Perceptra in Thailand.

The AI model has played an important role in more than 600,000 screenings so far, especially in resource-limited areas.

Sunny Virmani, Health AI Product Manager at Google, said, “We are working on solutions with the help of AI that can eliminate preventable blindness caused by diabetic retinopathy.”

Use of AI in Waste Management

Google has developed an AI-based computer vision model called CircularNet in collaboration with Bengaluru-based company Saahas Zero Waste. CircularNet aims to enable recycling by identifying and sorting plastic waste.

In a pilot project, Google's TensorFlow model succeeded in detecting plastic waste with 85% accuracy.

Contribution of AI in agriculture sector

Google has announced to make its Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) API available to developers. This API facilitates data-driven decision making, allowing farmers to perform more accurate and efficient farm management.

conclusion

These new partnerships of Google can bring a big revolution in the fields of agriculture, health and waste management through AI. In collaboration with local and international organizations, Google is building a sustainable ecosystem that will have a positive impact not only in India but also globally by simplifying complex problems.
