Rohit Sharma told why Team India lost in Bengaluru Test

After losing the first match of the Test series against New Zealand by 8 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharma admitted that being all out for 46 runs in the first innings was the biggest problem for the team. He said that his team will give its best performance to win the next two matches.

The Indian team had given a target of 107 runs to the Kiwis to win, which the visiting team achieved by losing 2 wickets on Sunday. After this defeat, Team India has lagged 0-1 in the 3-match series.

After the first day was washed out due to rain in the Bengaluru Test, India were bowled out for just 46 runs on the second day. This was Team India's third lowest Test score and their lowest ever score in a Test match at home.

Rohit said after the match, “I said in the press conference after the second day, we knew it would be challenging. We didn't think we would be all out for 46 runs, but credit must be given to New Zealand. Due to this we were left behind in the competition. Good things have to be taken forward. We have faced these challenges before, such things happen. There are two Tests left, we know what it takes and we will give our best in the next two Tests.”

However, India scored 426 runs in the second innings thanks to a 177-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Sarfaraz Khan (150) and Rishabh Pant (99). Praising these young batsmen, Rohit said that he is proud of the performance of both the young batsmen.

Rohit praised Pant and Sarfaraz, saying, “We could have easily been out for less than 350 runs, that's something we are proud of. Pant played a mature innings and also played his shots. Sarfaraz was very clear and mature in his third or fourth Test.”

Trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, the Indian team will now travel to Pune to play the second Test against New Zealand from October 24-28, followed by the third and final match of the series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 1-5. Will be played.
