The five-day All India Forest Sports Competition going on in Chhattisgarh ended on Sunday. Chhattisgarh stood first with 97 gold medals. Chhattisgarh achieved a record win by securing first position with a total of 731 points with 33 silver and 33 bronze medals. At the same time, Kerala secured second position with 39 gold, 37 silver and 27 bronze medals with a total of 380 points. Madhya Pradesh secured third position with a total of 353 points with 37 gold, 26 silver and 25 bronze medals. Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker specially participated in the program.

The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh. On this occasion he said that sports are important for personality development. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap presided over the function. On this occasion, he congratulated the officers and employees of the department for the success of the event.

The participants in the program danced on the songs of Bollywood singer Suvarna Tiwari. Apart from this, the participants danced on the songs of the famous Bastar Band and Chhattisgarh’s folk ballad Lorik Chanda.

Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker said that the real joy of winning comes only after losing. Expressing happiness on coming to Chhattisgarh for the first time, he said that it is a different pleasure to be among sports and players. Had heard a lot about Chhattisgarh. There is a lot of greenery here. This was the best experience ever after coming from Delhi. Nature is very important for us. I have learned the importance of conserving forests. This moment is unforgettable for me, I would like to come here again.

Eklavya also reached shooting range

Manu Bhakar met the players of Eklavya Shooting Range located at Police Lines. During this, he took information from the players about their events and practices. Besides, he also gave tips to the players during this period. Earlier, Manu Bhakar visited the forest with his family in Baranwapara Sanctuary located in Balodabazar district. Here he saw dense forests and wild animals roaming freely
