PM Modi said in Varanasi, ‘Today is a very auspicious day for Kashi. Now I have come among you after inaugurating a big eye hospital. RJ Shankar Eye Hospital is going to provide a lot of help to the elderly and children. With Baba’s blessings, the foundation stone of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees has been laid and inaugurated here. In the last 10 years we have launched a massive campaign to build infrastructure in the country and this infrastructure campaign has two major goals. The first objective is to increase the facilities of citizens through investment and the second objective is to provide employment to the youth through investment.
The number of people coming to Banaras has increased
PM Modi further said, ‘Today modern highways are being built across the country. Railway tracks are being laid on the new route. New airports are being built. This is not just the work of bricks, stones and iron rods, but it is also increasing the convenience of the people. The youth of the country are also getting employment. Today the number of people coming to Banaras has increased rapidly. Someone is coming for tourism, someone is coming for business and you are benefiting from it, so when Vatpur Airport is further expanded, you will benefit more. Today work on this has also started.
Kashi’s identity is changing
He said, ‘Today Kashi is identified with the grand and divine abode of Baba Vishwanath. Today Kashi is known for its Rudraksha Convention Centre. Today Kashi is known for its ring road and infrastructure projects. Today a facility like rope-way is being built in Kashi. Earlier Kashi was left to its own devices. Therefore, today I ask a question to every Kashi resident – what is the mentality that deprived Kashi of development in the first place. Remember the situation 10 years ago…Banaras was yearning for development. The answer to this is the politics of nepotism and appeasement. Be it Congress or Samajwadi Party…such parties have neither given priority to the development of Banaras before nor will give it in future. These parties also discriminated in development.
Our government is building 3 crore new houses
Our government is now going to build 3 crore more new houses. Even in Banaras, the women who have not got PM accommodation will be given this accommodation as soon as possible. I have given a call from the Red Fort – I will bring one lakh youth of the country, whose families have nothing to do with politics, into politics. This is a campaign to change the direction of Indian politics.
