The Ligue de Football Professionnel is investigating claims of alleged homophobic chanting from PSG supporters during their clash with Strasbourg.
Luis Enrique’s side continued their unbeaten league start to the season with a 4-2 victory on Saturday but the result was marred by accusations of discriminatory chanting from fans.
The stadium announcer at the Parc des Princes could be heard urging the chants – which were aimed at former PSG star Adrien Rabiot following his move to Marseille – to cease on more than one occasion during the game.
A statement from the governing body condemned the incident as ‘unacceptable’.
It read: ‘The LFP condemns the homophobic chants heard during the Paris Saint-Germain — RC Strasbourg match.

‘These new discriminatory chants by Paris Saint-Germain supporters are unacceptable, despite the fact that professional football as a whole has been working for several seasons to ban homophobic behaviour and chants from stadiums.
‘In three seasons, 93 anti-discrimination workshops have been organised at 33 clubs.
‘Following these new homophobic chants, the LFP’s disciplinary committee will look into the matter.’
In a statement released to French newspaper Le Figaro the club wrote: ‘PSG reaffirms its strong commitment against all forms of discrimination, including homophobia.
‘The club is taking all necessary measures, both before and during matches, to ensure that the Parc des Princes remains an inclusive venue for all.
‘We are actively working to banish discriminatory behaviors and to promote a respectful environment where every supporter can enjoy football safely.’
Last season four PSG players were sanctioned after allegedly joining in with offensive chants following Les Parisiens 4-0 win over rivals Marseille.
Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Achraf Hakimi and Layvin Kurzawa were handed a one-match suspended sentence after the game and all later apologised for their actions on social media.
