These big IPL teams are ready to bid in England’s tournament, the match will be of only 100 balls

At least half a dozen Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are ready to invest money in The Hundred tournament organized by the England Cricket Board. August 18 was the last date to submit the first bid and most of the participants are Indian investors. In this too, especially the owners of IPL franchises have shown interest.

These are the big teams willing to invest money

According to Cricbuzz report, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals have bid. Apart from this, Rajasthan Royals are also expected to bid. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have kept themselves away from it. Nothing clear is known yet about Gujarat Titans. Since this is the first round of bidding, investors have not yet been asked to choose their favorite team.

The decision regarding which franchise wants which team will be taken after the second round of bidding and it is expected that this will happen only after the IPL auction is over. The ECB is estimating the value of one of its teams to be between £75 million and £100 million.

ECB will sell 49 percent stake

At present, 100 percent stake of The Hundred is with the ECB and the board is preparing to sell 49 percent stake of the eight teams. Any investor who buys the stake may have to spend between £40-50 million. The remaining 51 percent stake will remain with the counties to which these teams are affiliated. Investors will also be given the option to buy the 51 percent stake held by the county.

The ECB plans to sell the remaining stake to its hosts, creating a strong and long-term partnership between new investors and some of the best institutions in the world. Part of this process will also be that the hosts will also be able to sell some of their stake to new investors.
