Celina Jaitley tells how her father was away on duty during Karva Chauth

mumbaiमुंबई : Actress Celina Jaitley, in a heart-touching social media post, shared touching memories of her father, an infantryman, who was often away serving the nation during the festival of Karva Chauth.

He recalled how his late mother used to join other officer and young wives to perform the rituals, thereby creating a sense of camaraderie among them. On Monday, Celina posted a stunning picture of herself on her Instagram handle, in which she is seen wearing a stunning 12 kg golden saree in the memory of her mother.

Sharing the image, the 'No Entry' actress wrote, “#KarvaChauth! Hope you all have a #HappyKarvaChauth My late father was an infantry soldier, who was always away serving the country on almost every Karva Chauth. I remember my late mother meeting other officers and young wives, who were all in the same boat. They performed aarti and puja, waited for the moon and broke their fast by looking at photographs of their husbands in uniform. There were no cell phones or video calls, so Mom often waited by the green army phone for Dad to make trunk-calls. (Army kids will connect themselves to the olive green phone)”.

She added, “I also dressed up as a little girl with mom (poor @haag.peter had no idea I was laying traps for them since I was 3). My army wife mom The atmosphere of Karva Chauth was more grounded and perhaps serious than the glamorized portrayals seen in films. The reality for many military families may be different from the festive, lavish celebrations often depicted on screen. “It involves sacrifice, flexibility and adjustment to the absence of loved ones”.

The post further reads, “For an army wife, Karva Chauth can carry a deep emotional load, marked by the uncertainty of her husband being away or in challenging circumstances. Instead of grand celebrations, meditate on quiet prayers , may be more on hope and personal strength. It's a more personal, intimate kind of devotion – one that reflects the reality of waiting, worrying and hoping for one's husband's safety”.

She further mentioned, “Mom often wore a gold saree against the bright red and magenta on Karva Chauth, so this time I decided to wear this stunning 12 kg #gold saree in her memory, made by my dear friend Radhika My husband helped my beloved walk in this 150 year old #Shakhapola with traditional gold jewelery and beads gifted to me on my wedding day. Not easy… So happy to feel that special #IndiaFestival vibe in #Austria, I am so lucky to be born in such a rich cultural heritage Jaitley concluded his post by sharing that his mother often celebrates Karva Chauth. But instead of the usual vibrant reds and magentas, this year, in her memory, she decided to wear a luxurious 12 kg gold saree, which was her first gift from her dear friend Radhika after her marriage. Was a thoughtful gift on the occasion.

“I paired it with my mother's Shakhpola, traditional gold jewelery and 150-year-old beads that have been passed down for generations. My husband helped me wear this saree, which was not easy! I am very happy to embrace that special Indian festival atmosphere in Austria. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to be born into such a rich cultural heritage”, said the actress.
