India, China agree to end border crisis and disengage, MEA says

In a major breakthrough, India and China have agreed to resolve their ongoing border crisis since 2020. Addressing the media today on patrolling along the Line of Actual Control, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that after several rounds of talks, both countries have agreed to disengage from the disputed points. The standoff between Indian and Chinese armies has been going on since June 2020 following a violent clash in the Galwan Valley. Misri said, “As a result of the discussions held over the past several weeks, an agreement has been reached on patrolling arrangements along the Line of Actual Control in the India-China border area and this is leading to disengagement and ultimately resolution of issues arising in these areas in 2020.” Is.”

This is another success in the ongoing military standoff between the two countries. Earlier last month, after four years of maintaining its presence in the Galwan Valley, China had ordered the withdrawal of its troops from the area.
