Curtains worth Rs 5.6 crore and TV worth Rs 64 lakh, LED lights worth Rs 30 lakh in Delhi CM's residence, PWD released the list and told the secret of Sheeshmahal.

The Public Works Department (PWD) on Sunday released a shocking list of the infamous “Sheesh Mahal”, the luxurious bungalow of former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, detailing amenities worth over Rs 100 crore.

Spread over 21,000 square feet, the sprawling residence has a host of luxuries, a stark contrast to the “common man” image that Kejriwal and his party AAP have long promoted.

Standout features of the “Sheesh Mahal” include 16 ultra slim smart 4K TVs worth a total of Rs 64 lakh and motorized window curtains priced between Rs 4-6 crore. The bungalow also has plush recliner sofas worth Rs 10 lakh, reflecting an affluent lifestyle, which has attracted public outrage and scrutiny. This list has been prepared on the request of the Delhi Chief Minister's Office, as the property is preparing to be transferred to the new Chief Minister Atishi Marlena.

The house is believed to have been renovated with very expensive fittings, which was seen as a disregard for the norms to be followed by any chief minister and public servant. In fact, it became such a big political battle that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the former chief minister of not being a “common man” and misusing public funds.

Controversy erupted over Kejriwal's residence at 5 Flag Road being handed over to CM Atishi Marlena by the Public Works Department (PWD) without conducting the usual stock-take before handing it over to the new resident.

Virendra Sachdeva cornered Arvind Kejriwal and said, 'The Sheesh Mahal which he wanted to hide from the people of Delhi. He didn't want anyone to see it. A list regarding Sheesh Mahal has come in the public domain, which is surprising. The certificate of honesty of Arvind Kejriwal is emerging from that Sheesh Mahal.

'This is the corrupt Sheesh Mahal. Those who used to say that I will not take a government house, will not take government facilities. He should tell who installs curtains worth Rs 5 crore 60 lakh? They were swearing by placing their hands on the heads of their children that they will give up government facilities and will not buy a government car. He should answer for the massage chair worth Rs 4 lakh. 'That Sheesh Mahal also has doors worth 70 lakhs. There is a fridge worth Rs 9 lakh and 16 TVs worth Rs 65 lakh. Who installs 16 TVs in one house? We can understand what they would be watching on so many TVs. LED light costs Rs 30 lakh. There are ten to fifteen toilet seats in this Sheesh Mahal. The cost of each toilet seat is Rs 12 lakh. ,

Swati Maliwal targeted Kejriwal
Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal posted on X and wrote, 'Curtains with remote worth Rs 5.6 crore, railing worth Rs 1 crore, automatic doors worth Rs 70 lakh, TV worth Rs 65 lakh, remote control light worth Rs 30 lakh, Rs 12 lakh each. Toilet seats (which are said to be missing), fridge worth Rs 9 lakh, massage chair worth Rs 4 lakh and what not… The great man who built this palace had asked for 10 ACs to be installed in Sheila Dikshit's house. – “Who pays the bill for all this? You and I fill up. My heart trembles thinking that when 40% of the people of Delhi live in slums, then how can a Chief Minister live in such a luxurious house.”
