Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah resigns from Budgam assembly constituency

Srinagar. Pro-tem Speaker in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Mubarak Gul announced that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has resigned from Budgam Assembly Constituency. While he has retained the Ganderbal Assembly seat, his family stronghold.

On this occasion, Mubarak Gul informed the members in the Assembly that Omar Abdullah has decided to leave his post from Budgam, making it clear that he wants to focus on Ganderbal. His victory on Ganderbal Assembly seat has strengthened his political position, while his resignation from Budgam has brought a new twist in the politics of the state.
