Maharashtra Assembly elections have been announced. In view of the elections, a meeting of the Central Election Committee of Congress was held. The names of 63 candidates were discussed in the meeting. If sources are to be believed, the first list of Congress candidates will be released on October 23. The first meeting of the Central Election Committee will now be held on October 25, in which the names of the candidates for the remaining seats can be approved.

Among the 63 candidates whose names have been approved in the Central Election Committee meeting of the Congress, the names of some leaders have come to the fore.

  12. KC Patavi- Akkalkuwa
  13. Kunal Patil- Dhule Rural

Congress has so far completed screening on 96 seats in Maharashtra. It is expected that Congress can get 110 seats. Congress will also adjust Samajwadi Party in these 10 seats. However, there are reports that Uddhav Thackeray is not satisfied with the seat distribution.

Current status of Maharashtra Assembly

There are a total of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly, and any party or alliance needs at least 145 seats to form the government. The ruling Mahayuti alliance has a total of 202 seats, of which 102 are held by BJP, 40 by NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), 38 by Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and 22 by other smaller parties. At the same time, the opposition has a total of 75 seats, of which Congress has 37, Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) have 16 seats each, and six seats are with other small parties. Apart from this, 15 seats are vacant at present.

Elections will be held in one phase in Maharashtra

Elections will be held in Maharashtra in one phase. Election notification will be issued on 22 October. The last date for nomination is 29 October. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 4. Voting date is 20th November. Counting of votes will take place on 23rd and victory and defeat will be clear.
