US Defense Minister Austin arrives in Kiev on unannounced visit, assures Zelensky of military assistance

Kyiv: US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is on an unannounced visit to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. Austin arrived in Kiev on Monday on an unannounced visit, hours after the Russian drone attack. The visit comes at a time when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Western partners to continue providing military support for the war.

Austin said on the social media platform X that his fourth visit shows that the United States as well as the international community stands with Ukraine. Zelensky is urging Western allies to support his so-called victory plan to end the nearly three-year war.
