Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 OTT Release: The most popular Japanese Anime is all set for a fresh season and it will be streamed in the OTT Platform Netflix. However, the streaming platform is yet to announce the official date of the streaming.
Plot
The story of the Japanese anime series follws the life of Mizu who seeks revenge for her mother’s death in the 17th century.The series is set during the Edo period ( A time in Japan’s history from 1603 to 1868 when the country was ruled by Tokugawa Shonugate) in Japan
The period is named after Edo, which is now known as Tokyo. During this time, the borders of the country were closes and people hardly used to see each other’s faces other than japanese.
The main character Mizu is a mix race samurai which has blue eyes and it is considered a deformity and that’s why she has earned the title of a monster. In order to seek her revenge..
She also impersonate as a man to fulfill her revenge. Mizu seeks revenge to kill 4 people, one of which is her father. She is helped by Ringo, who is a soba-maker. ( A soba maker is someone who makes soba noodles from buckwheat)
Another one is Taigen who is a Samurai and Princess Akemi, Akemi is Taigen’s fiancee. The series explores the lives of Japanese Samurai’s, their heritage, culture and violence during the Edo-period.
In the second season, the story will move forward to Europe, where Mizu will face her propable father and also explore the Western Culture.
Cast and Production
The series stars Maya Erskine as Mizu, Kenneth Branagh as Abijah Fowler, Masi Oka as Ringo, and Brenda Song as Princess Akemi.
