Shami believes India is taking ‘lot of pressure’ for BGT 2024

Indian star pacer Mohammed Shami gave his suggestion to team India to not take a lot of pressure for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, which is going to be played in Australia. He said India should play with their natural skills.

In an exclusive interview with Sports Thank youShami stated that the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is hyped because of World test Championship points table, where India will aim to qualify for the final for the third consecutive time.

This trophy is getting a lot of hype. I think a lot is being thought about about this trophy. We are talking about this because of World Test Championship points. I think the skills and talent of India (reckoning with the past two previous wins), I don’t think India need to take a lot of pressure. Just play with your natural skill,” Shami told Sports Thank you.

Mohammed Shami has reportedly stopped practise due to swelling in his knees, and has also said that he only wants to watch out for his leg because of his previous injuries. Shami further cleared that this decision was taken as a cautious move because of his previous injuries.

It is very good now. I stopped it for a week. Because I am also scared sometimes. That there is an operation leg, an operation point. That I don’t react. Because of the dryness, my front foot loads more. So I don’t want any problem in this. That’s why we stepped back. We can see a little bit, but it’s not that much. The person was less and the market was more. So I don’t want more than this. We need confirmation, that’s important,” added Shami.
