Delhi government's decision: 2 special courts will be set up for the disabled.

New Delhi The Delhi government has sent a proposal to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena to set up two special courts to hear cases related to the disabled. Delhi High Court has already nominated 2 judges for this.

Government officials said that the file was first sent directly to the LG by the Law Minister, to whom the Lieutenant Governor told that the proposal should first be sent to the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary. After discussing this proposal in the cabinet meeting held last week, Chief Minister Atishi again sent it to the LG for approval.

Under Section 84 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, a request has been made to the Delhi Government to hear cases related to the disabled, hence a special court is being constituted for the disabled.
