IND vs NZ 2nd Test: After a crushing defeat by eight wickets in the Bengaluru Test, the Indian team will try to level the series 1-1 in the second Test. Actually, Kane Williamson is unfit, he had suffered a back strain during the Test series against Sri Lanka. This problem persisted in the first Test against India and he could not play the Bengaluru Test. New Zealand Cricket Board (BLACKCAPS) has informed about Williamson's exclusion from the second test through ex-post. “Kane Williamson will not be available for the Blackcaps' second Test against India as he continues rehabilitation from a groin strain,” the board wrote.

On the other hand, New Zealand head coach Gary Steed said that Williamson's recovery is progressing, but he is not yet fit enough for the physical demands of Test cricket. Stead further said, 'Kane is moving in the right direction, but he is still not at 100% fitness. We are hopeful that he will show further improvement and will be available for the third Test.
