New Zealand's Mellie Kerr improves in ICC T20 bowling rankings

DubaiDubai : Mellie Kerr was named Aramco Player of the Tournament following her stellar campaign for champions New Zealand. And the leading wicket-taker in the tournament has moved up to sixth place in the ICC T20I bowling rankings. An astonishing Kerr is also ranked 15th in the batting rankings and is behind only West Indies captain Hayley Matthews in the all-rounder rankings. New Zealand's other leading wicket-takers in the T20 World Cup have also moved up the standings, with Eden Carson closer to the top 10 at 12th and Rosemary Mair moving up 10 places to 27th. Mair's impressive performances in the UAE earned her a place in the ICC Team of the Tournament, with England's Sophie Ecclestone remaining in the top spot. Other star players of the Women's T20 World Cup have also made significant improvements in their batting rankings. South Africa's Anneke Bosch, who stunned Australia in the semi-finals, has moved up seven places to 13th, while experienced Suzie Bates has overtaken Alyssa Healy to sixth place. The only change has been in the top 10.

Dianne Dottin, who made a brilliant comeback in international cricket with West Indies, has jumped 36 places, but due to being away from the game for a long time, she remains down in the rankings. New Zealand's Brooke Halliday (up 21 places) and West Indies Key pinch-hitter Kianna Joseph (up 46 places) has also seen a surge due to her pace-making contributions in the UAE. Beth Mooney, Tahlia McGrath and Laura Wolvaardt remain the top three batsmen.

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana has achieved the best rating of her career in the T20 all-rounders rankings by climbing two places to 11th position after her impressive performance in the tournament.
