8 coaches of express train derail in Assam, no casualties reported

Latest News :- Lokmanya Tilak Express going from Agartala to Mumbai derailed at Diplong railway station in Assam on Thursday afternoon. In this regard, the spokesperson of North East Frontier Railway said, “Lokmanya Tilak Express, which left from Agartala for Mumbai this morning, derailed at Dipalong station in Assam at 3.55 pm. “8 coaches including a power car and a train were damaged in this accident.” The engine derailed, however, there was no loss of life and no major injuries.

After the accident, trains have been suspended on the Lumding-Badarpur single track section. Helpline numbers in Lumding are 03674 263120, 03674 263126. This accident happened in Lumding-Borderpur hill area under Lumding division. Following the accident, railway officials have reached the spot to oversee the recovery and restoration work, a North East Frontier Railway zone spokesperson said.
