Quaid-e-Azam Trophy from October 26, eighteen teams will participate

Lahore, 23 October (HIST). The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday announced the final schedule of the 2024-25 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the premier domestic first-class competition. The tournament will begin on October 26, with the final taking place on December 19.

In a major change, this year's tournament will see 18 teams spread across 16 regions take part, with Lahore and Karachi having two teams each. Last year, only eight teams played in the tournament, while in the previous four years the tournament had seen only six participants. Karachi Whites are the defending champions.

Abdullah Niazi, director of domestic operations, said in a statement, “The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is the pinnacle of domestic cricket in Pakistan as it is not just a tournament but also an event that brings out immense talent from across the country and exposes them to international cricket. Prepares for the challenges of cricket. As always, we will continue to provide the best possible platform for the players to showcase their potential and perform better on the biggest stage of domestic cricket as they play shoulder to shoulder with the best players in the country.”

He said, “Earlier we had successfully organized the Champions One-Day Cup and we are fully committed to strengthening our domestic structure. The successful conduct of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is the centerpiece of this commitment.”
