As per the same report, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are keeping a close eye on Rishabh Pant’s situation. There have been many discussions between Pant and the DC owners. The current management is not very keen to give the captaincy to the wicketkeeper-batter.

The 27-year-old joined the Delhi-based franchise in 2016 but could be seen in a new jersey in the IPL 2025 if things don’t change. Pant is set to enter the mega auction and is expected to be in big demand as many franchises are looking for a captain ahead of the new season.

The Bengaluru-based franchise is keeping a close eye and might go aggressively for him during the mega-auction. As per the Times of India report, KL Rahul is also set to enter the auction and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are also in the race to buy Pant.

After Dinesh Karthik’s retirement, RCB are in need of middle-order wicketkeeper batter and Pant is a perfect fit for their team. Not just RCB and LSG, Punjab Kings are also likely to bid for the 27-year-old.

As per the media reports, not many IPL franchises are looking to go heavy on retentions with Mumbai Indians could well be the only team to retain 4-5 players. Sunrisers Hyderabad have almost finalised their list and are all set to retain Heinrich Klassen, Pat Cummins and Abhishek Sharma.
