Watch Video: One Week Old Lamborghini Revuelto Catches Fire
Supercars fires are not a new thing. There have been a lot of reports of these high power cars catching fires over the years. Lamborghini’s own Aventador was once recalled for fire risks because of a fault evaporative emission system. We expected these problems to be left in the past but looks like they have returned to haunt Lamborghini’s latest Revuelto supercar as well.
The case comes from New York City highway where a week old Revuelto with just 174 kms on the odometer caught fire. The owner is Ethan Duran who is an influencer and runs Corsa Auto Group which rents high end cars in New York. He says that he was just driving along when he saw flames coming out of the vehicle from the back. He immediately exited the vehicle and it caught fire and completely burnt to the ground before the fire department could even reach at the sight.
We can see the Revuelto fully engulfed in flames. This is probably the first case of a fire for the Revuelto which is a pretty new car and deliveries have just started. The video also shows small explosions taking place inside the car. The Revuelto also features a very extensive hybrid system.
The Revuelto comes with a 6.2L V12 engine paired to a hybrid assist system and produces 1,015 bhp and 725 Nm of torque combined. It is currently Lamborghini’s flagship vehicle and it starts from Rs 8.89 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
There has been no official statement from Lamborghini yet on the fire and we assume that this is an ongoing case and a proper investigation is going on. Still, it is quite scary that your cars will just burst in flames and burn to the ground.
