The massive Dana cyclone is moving towards Odisha! The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, which alerts that Cyclone Dana has been moving northwest at about 12 km/h over the past six hours. IMD further suggested that the cyclone was centred around 420 km southeast of Paradip, 450 km south-southeast of Dhamara, and 500 km from Sagar Island in West Bengal by 5:30 PM today.
The storm isn’t slowing down either. IMD alerted that it is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm by October 24th morning over the Bay of Bengal. It’s expected to make landfall somewhere between Puri and Sagar Island, close to Bhitarkanika and Dhamara in Odisha. Both Odisha and West Bengal are preparing for impact.
