Emerging Asia Cup 2024: Badoni, Abhishek star as India beat Oman by six wickets

New Delhi: Ayush Badoni’s sensational knock helped India to beat Oman by six wickets at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) in Al Amerat. The Men in Blue will face Afghanistan A in the semifinal of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup here on Wednesday.

Badoni smashed 51 runs off 27 balls with the help of six boundaries and two maximums. India A chased down the target of 141 in just 15.2 overs to finish the Group stage unbeaten. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) youngsters’ footwork against spinners was brilliant as he danced down the track to smash sixes and fours all around the park. Earlier, Indian captain Tilak Varma used eight bowlers against Oman’s senior team with Aaqib Khan, Rasikh Salam, Nishant Sindhu, Ramandeep Singh and Sai Kishore taking one wicket each. Badoni won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance.

The Men in Blue defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match by 7 runs and after that, they beat the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 7 wickets in the second match. In the third and final group stage match, India beat Oman by six wickets to qualify for the semifinal.
