Dhoni set to meet CSK officials to discuss his participation in IPL

MS Dhoni will be going to meet Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before the mega auctions. Dhoni has not yet given his confirmation regarding his availability for the upcoming season of the event.

CSK will have their say on retentions after their meeting with Dhoni. A source close to CSK informed that the CSK management approached Dhoni and he said he is not available till 28th, so the officials will be meeting him on 29th of the 30th, and then give final verdict on retentions.

BCCI has announced 31st October as the deadline for all the franchise to submit their list of players they are to retain, where Dhoni is eligible to play as an uncapped player this year.

This is possible because the IPL brought back a rune that was discarded in 2021, which allows for a player to be considered uncapped if they have been retired from international cricket for five years.
